One of the most beloved projects by teachers in Romania is starting! "Internet Heroes" is now in its third edition for the new school year and will be launched on October 7th.
All teachers who want to learn how to help their students navigate the internet safely are invited to the launch. The Adfaber team will be there live to answer all questions and to guide teachers through the steps required to obtain the "Internet Heroes" diploma and implement the program in their classrooms.
Over 20,000 teachers in Romania have already enrolled in the "Internet Heroes" program.
The new school year marks the third edition of "Internet Heroes". The program is developed by Google and implemented by the Adfaber Association.
- In 2022, the Romanian Police, through the Institute for Research and Crime Prevention, joined as a partner of the Adfaber Association and presented online safety lessons in schools. The involvement of specialists from the Romanian Police resulted in 444 preventive activities in 88 educational institutions, benefiting 24,124 minors and 2,004 adults, including 1,522 teachers.
- Also in 2022, at the end of the school year, the Adfaber team launched the Heroes of the Internet Caravan and visited 95 villages and towns, reaching over 200 schools with online safety lessons.
- In total, through the interventions of the Romanian Police, the visits of the Adfaber Association, and the lessons taught in class by teachers enrolled in the program, over 1 million children have learned how to navigate safely on the internet.
Teachers who haven't undergone the training yet are invited to register for the launch event to learn all the details about Eroii Internetului.
The event takes place online on October 7th, and you can register for it here.
Share the link and help as many teachers as possible learn about this program. Their involvement will help children in Romania avoid dangers in the online environment.
The program also includes the Eroii Internetului competition, through which teachers, along with their students, can win prizes that can help them modernize the participants' classroom and school.
How does the Internet Heroes training for teachers take place?
For a total of 3 online sessions, held in just 3 days of a week, teachers are presented with the Internet Heroes program. At the end of the training, they receive a diploma certifying that they have completed the training and then teach online safety concepts to students in grades 0-VIII, helping them become responsible digital citizens.
Internet Heroes is comprised of the tools parents and teachers need to have open discussions about the online environment and educate children about their safety. It includes a complete program for teachers, a family guide for parents, and a game for children.
The Internet Heroes curriculum provides the framework that adults needed to address those discussions with students that no one talks about. Topics such as cyberbullying, personal data theft, and privacy settings are presented in a child-friendly, easily understandable manner.
Adfaber Association encourages all teachers to explore the program, receive the diploma for participating in the training, and help children understand the meaning of responsibility and safety in the online environment.
