The National EDB StartUP Competition organized by ADFABER and sponsored by Oracle Academy announced today the winners of its third edition.
The National Database Modeling Competition “EDB StartUP” is one of the best ways to gain real-world experience, step out of your comfort zone, and validate the knowledge you've acquired.
With the help of free courses provided by the sponsor Oracle Academy, students learned database modeling, and through this competition, they tested and validated what they studied, being recognized for their effort.

Who participated in EDB StartUP in 2023?
In the 2023 edition of the National EDB StartUP Competition, 85 teams enrolled, each consisting of 3 students and a coordinating teacher.
The teachers stood by the students and provided the necessary guidance to successfully complete the projects. Subsequently, the team's creations were judged by IT specialists who analyzed and rewarded the students' work.
The competition jury carefully examined each submitted project, taking into account adherence to the theme, effort put forth, project complexity, and creativity. As a result of the judging, four projects were designated as winners, which we will present below.
Winners of the National EDB StartUP Competition 2023
This year's competition featured both experienced participants, who already understand the basic concepts of database modeling and wanted to test and validate what they've learned, as well as students who just discovered this opportunity and transformed the time they spend at home, on the computer, into a learning experience.
Because one team came very close in score and performance to the top-winning projects, we decided to reward their achievement by also granting a special mention in this edition.
Special Mention at the EDB StartUP 2023 Competition
The team Aqualood with the project “Games Everyone Can Enjoy” qualifies for the Special Mention! The project is developed by the students Ștefan Popa, Glafkos Michaelides, and Alex Mark Stan, from the “Tudor Vianu” National College of Computer Science in Bucharest, under the guidance of prof. Corina Elena Vint.
Third Place at the EDB StartUP 2023 Competition
Team T&A with the project “Needs of a Fashion World Business” ranks in 3rd place! The project is developed by the students Alexandra-Ioana Dinu, Teodora Ioana Nae, and Oana Teodora Mirea, from the “Tudor Vianu” National College of Computer Science in Bucharest, under the guidance of prof. Elena Drăgan.
Second Place at the EDB StartUP 2023 Competition
Team Blue Culture with the project “Blue Culture” ranks in 2nd place! The project is developed by the students Radu Ciobotaru and Marian Marinică, from the “Tudor Vianu” National College of Computer Science in Bucharest, under the guidance of prof. Corina Elena Vint.
First Place at the EDB StartUP 2023 Competition
Team MEDATA with the project “Medicines Anytime, Anywhere” ranks in 1st place! The project is developed by the students Iulia Slanina, Ana Liliac-Zajontz, and Cristian Verde, from the “Tudor Vianu” National College of Computer Science in Bucharest, under the guidance of prof. Victor Manz.
