Ce este EDB StartUP?
Competiția Națională de Database Modelling EDB StartUP se află la a șasea ediție și este GRATUITĂ. Este organizată de către ADFABER alături de Colegiul Național de Informatică Tudor Vianu, din București și sponsorizată de Oracle Academy.
Elevii participanți au ocazia să învețe modelarea bazelor de date, pot testa și valida ce au studiat fiind recunoscuți pentru efortul lor la nivel național.
Nu este necesară experiență anterioară, participanții învață modelarea bazelor de date de la zero.

Elevii învață cum funcționează aplicațiile din spatele platformelor online. EDB StartUP oferă șansa de a învăța de la zero cum se construiesc bazele de date – o competență esențială în viitoarea carieră, indiferent de domeniul ales.
Participarea înseamnă mai mult decât o competiție:

PROFESORI
Implicarea profesorilor poate schimba traiectoria unui elev. Devin mentori și coordonează una sau mai multe echipe de elevi, ghidându-i pas cu pas în înțelegerea bazelor de date și în dezvoltarea unui proiect tehnic cu impact real.
Participarea este GRATUITĂ, iar singura nevoie este dorința de a susține și încuraja dezvoltarea elevilor.
Tema ediției ”Sistem de gestiune a atacurilor cibernetice și a breșelor de date în școli”
Prin acest proiect, vrem să scoateți în evidență importanța securității digitale în mediul educațional – proiectați un sistem de bază de date care monitorizează și gestionează atacurile cibernetice și incidentele de tip data breach ce pot afecta școlile.
Obiectivul este realizarea unui sistem care poate să clasifice diferite tipuri de atacuri (phishing, malware, acces neautorizat), să identifice zonele vulnerabile și datele expuse, să analizeze frecvența și impactul incidentelor și să ofere soluții de prevenție adaptate școlilor.

The competition is open to all high school students who, by the start date of the competition, October 14, 2024, are enrolled in a high school institution and have their domicile in Romania.
Yes, a teacher can be the coordinator of several teams, but a student cannot be part of more than one team.
The projects will be submitted between December 2 and January 19, 2025 via WE TRANSFER, to the address ebd@adfaber.org, or as an archive to the address edb@adfaber.org
Judging will take place between January 20 - February 10, 2025 according to the scale available in the competition rules. The jury will choose 3 winning teams.
”Intersection Traffic Management System" – this is the theme for this year's edition.
With this project, we want to highlight the positive side of technology - Design a database system that monitors and manages traffic flow at various intersections in a city.
The system should track the number of vehicles, traffic light times and any incidents or accidents.
The uploaded project must be in the form of a Google Slides or PowerPoint presentation file with the title of the realized project and must contain a presentation of 10-13 slides where the following sections are touched:
- team name and names of members
- presentation of the usefulness of the project, interviews and references
- final database system with partial explanations
- examples of reports which can be derived from the data contained in the future database and which can be used to improve the infrastructure
- final conclusions
- a screen recording video in which the team presents the project and the role of each member
Winners will be notified by phone and email, and their names and project details will be posted on the competition website.
