OUR PRIVACY COMMITMENT
Our privacy policy is driven by our commitment to the following privacy principles:
- We are committed to creating a safe learning environment for the users of our health/educational programmes/applications/platforms. We take the protection of this information seriously.
- In general, we will not ask you to provide us with personal information in order to try out our courses and articles, most of which are accessible without a user account. However, certain information is required to create an account, to register for our newsletter or to receive additional information related to our activity, which is why you will be expressly notified in these cases.
- The main reason we collect data from the users of our health/educational programmes/applications/platforms is to fulfil our mission of providing the highest-quality educational materials and resources, to promote our activity and for other items available on the website.
- We do not sell personal data or exploit it for financial gain. We also do not sell advertising. We are a charitable non-governmental organisation in Romania and our income comes for the most part from donations.
- We strive to provide access to and control over the information that the users of our health/educational programmes/applications/platforms provide to us (as detailed below) and we take the protection of personal data seriously.
- Where a student's personal information is provided to Asociația ADFABER by a school or an educational institution, Asociația ADFABER agrees to keep this information in accordance with the requirements of the educational institution, and that institution is solely responsible for the provision of this data and the consent relating to it.

We are committed to creating a safe environment for users of all ages on our websites: kidsintech.adfaber.org, codeschoolclubs.ro, pacientuldigital.ro, adfaber.org, adfaber.org/technovation, hourofcode.adfaber.org and other websites, the application programming interface "API") and online services (collectively, our "site"). Visitors to and users of the website and participants in our educational and health programmes are referred to individually as "User" and collectively as "Users". Any user who uses our educational platforms/programmes/applications is referred to as a "User of educational programmes/applications/platforms" and any user who uses our health platforms/programmes/applications is referred to as a "User of health programmes/applications/platforms". As a non-profit organisation, we use the data we receive only to the extent that it helps us provide high-quality education for every student in every school or to help patients and doctors improve their quality of life or their work through access to educational resources. We have established ourselves as a non-profit organisation so that a profit motive will not interfere with our mission of providing a trustworthy educational resource.
Our privacy policy describes the information we collect from our users, how we use this information and what we do to protect it. The use of the website and of any information you provide on the website are subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy. The sections below describe how Asociația ADFABER collects and uses the name, display name, email address, phone number, etc. from Users ("Personal Information"), persistent cookies or IP addresses ("Persistent Identifiers"), non-personal information and technical information (described below) that we collect. We refer collectively to any of this data that we collect from the users of our health/educational programmes/applications/platforms.
The collection, use and disclosure of the data of the users of our health/educational programmes/applications/platforms are governed by our privacy policy and our terms of use, as well as by any applicable state laws relating to the collection of data for them. Asociația ADFABER will not use the data of the users of its health/educational programmes/applications/platforms for purposes other than those authorised under the Privacy Policy.
Asociația ADFABER collaborates with local institutions and organisations, our regional partners. We disseminate the information in a limited manner (as set out in this privacy policy and never including the User's personal information) with these partners in order to enable them to organise local professional-development workshops and to support teachers and schools in their region. Each regional partner signs an agreement with Asociația ADFABER, which requires them to comply with this privacy policy and to treat all information received through the partnership as confidential.

OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED BY ASOCIAȚIA ADFABER
When you use certain options of our site, such as signing forms or petitions in support of Asociația ADFABER, providing information to put your school on the map of schools that teach computer science, participating in a workshop, bringing Asociația ADFABER programmes to your school, donating to Asociația ADFABER, buying T-shirts or other items or taking part in online surveys, Asociația ADFABER may ask you to provide personal information, including your full name, email address, school name and postal code or school address, as well as billing and/or shipping information when necessary to complete a purchase or make a donation. The information is used to enable you to participate appropriately in various activities and actions and to send you occasional emails with information about Asociația ADFABER, which we believe is of interest to you. All non-transactional emails we send include an "unsubscribe" link.
If you enter your name to print a certificate upon completion of our courses, we will save the name you enter to enable you to pass on the digital certificate.

Computer science teachers may provide a school or classroom address, together with a description of the course offerings, in order to allow students or parents to find local schools, summer camps or workshops that teach computer science in their neighbourhood.
Finally, for teachers, educators and partners who take part in our computer science training programmes, we may request the information necessary to reward you or to recognise your work (such as a mailing address to send a prize, the name of the school/institution).
LOCATION INFORMATION
We may collect and store information about your location in order to provide you with educational experiences or email updates tailored to the region you are part of. The location information we may access includes: (1) the postal code, if you provide it to us; (2) the approximate geographic region in which your computer or mobile device is located, determined by the IP address (You may change the settings on your computer or mobile device to prevent the provision of such IP information); (3) the location of the school or classroom, if you provide it to us (as a teacher) to enable us to display the classroom location on a map or in search results for parents looking for schools where computer science is taught. Asociația ADFABER does not request or collect your exact GPS location, and your billing and shipping addresses are not used for these purposes.
INFORMATION FROM OTHER SOURCES
In certain situations, we may obtain information, including personal information, from third parties or sources other than the website. For example, if you donate to Asociația ADFABER through PayPal, we may obtain your name and email address in order to send a thank-you note. If we combine or associate information from other sources with the personal information we collect through the site, we will treat the combined information as personal information in accordance with this privacy policy. The dissemination of personal information with those third parties will also be subject to their privacy policies.

Donations to Asociația ADFABER or purchases from the Asociația ADFABER shop are processed through third parties and, although Asociația ADFABER receives a receipt for donations (for tax purposes), we never receive the payment instrument (such as the credit card or account information).
USE OF EMAIL ADDRESSES
If a user contacts us through our customer support pages, we will store and use their email address to respond to them. If a user over the age of 13 signs our online petitions, or a user creates a teacher account on Asociația ADFABER or offers us help as a volunteer in the software industry, we will store and use their email address to communicate and promote the activity of our organisation.
CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13
Asociația ADFABER courses are designed to be used by Users of all ages, including children under 13, with the involvement and prior authorisation of their school, teacher, parents or guardian. To use features that involve uploading personalised media files or sending messages within the school, we obtain the prior consent of the students' teacher, of another authorised school representative or, in some cases, of the parent or legal guardian. If Asociația ADFABER learns that it has accidentally collected personal information without parental or teacher consent, Asociația ADFABER will take the necessary measures to delete this information. LIMITATIONS ON ACCESS TO THE PERSONAL INFORMATION OF EMPLOYEES AND AUTHORISED PARTIES
Asociația ADFABER, its directors, employees, agents and contractors must have a legitimate business reason (directly related to advancing our charitable, non-profit, education-oriented mission) to access the personal information you provide to Asociația ADFABER, for example for assistance in product support. Asociația ADFABER will require its officers, directors, employees, agents and contractors to comply with this Privacy Policy and to treat the Personal Information of Asociația ADFABER's Users as confidential information.
HOW WE SHARE OR TRANSFER DATA

If you use the Asociația ADFABER site in the context of a partnership with the school, we may allow the school to access the same Student progress report that is also shared with your teacher.
We may share teacher information with teacher training facilitators, with regional partners and with the school district, as well as with other partners.
Our regional partners will be able to see anonymised demographic information and the use of courses and professional learning programmes for the schools and districts in their area. They will not see the name or contact information of any teacher unless that teacher chooses to share it within a local professional learning workshop or a professional learning programme.
You (entirely under your control) may disseminate data on social networks.
Some of our users choose to post their achievements on social networks. This functionality is entirely optional. When you post content on social networks, the actual content displayed is entirely under your control and is not posted automatically on your behalf. Typically, this content includes only the code (the application or animation or game or other) you have written, displayed alongside any other comments you might add.
You may send us limited information when you contact us for assistance.
When you contact us with a request for assistance, you may provide personal information, which is shared with an Asociația ADFABER support representative, so that we can process your request. Asociația ADFABER representatives are either employees or independent contractors of Asociația ADFABER and will sign a confidentiality agreement requiring them to protect and not disclose confidential information, including users' personal information, and to use the information only in the context of resolving requests for product support.
Asociația ADFABER promotes the students and teachers who work on our site and on social media channels. These profiles and similar testimonials are always published with the permission of the participating student or teacher and, where applicable, the parent or guardian, and may include personal information, such as the name, likeness and photograph or video of the person being promoted.
We may disseminate anonymised or aggregated data in order to improve our services and to learn more about our users.
On certain occasions, Asociația ADFABER may collaborate with third parties (such as universities and education research organisations) in order to improve our services or offerings.
