Hour of Code România

ABOUT

Technology is everywhere, changing everything and can be used by everyone!

Hour of Code is the biggest education event in history and aims to give everyone, especially school and university students, an hour-long introduction to technology and programming.

We invite you to the great Hour of Code event, organized annually in Romania by Adfaber, whether you are a teacher, student, parent, or represent a company. You will encourage kids to use technology wisely and discover how quickly they can learn to create small programs.

WHY

Every industry in the world is being transformed by automation, digitization and the adoption of modern communication and learning methods..

Education in Romania, however, is left behind and still cannot meet the demands of the market. This denial of technology leads to a more difficult teaching process for teachers who want to bring students into the present and to children who are uninterested in old methods of learning. Hour of Code presents an introduction to digital literacy and shows kids practically how they can use technology to develop themselves.

RESOURCE

Kids need to learn how to create technology, not just use it. Through early digital literacy, they will have the knowledge base necessary for success in the 21st century. The Hour of Code event is a simple and fun way to introduce students to computer science and technology. The activities within the event are free, fun, intuitive, and can easily be presented to kids of all ages!

Implement an activity in the classroom, then fill out the form for the certificate.

I am a parent

Parents now have the opportunity to show their kids how their favorite games work and the technology that surrounds them. Without needing to know programming, using Hour of Code tutorials, they can go through a unique hour of programming alongside their family!

Join us too and prepare your kid for the future! Go through an Hour of Code activity with your family. You’ll be able to choose from dozens of small programming sessions, adapted to different age groups, from 4 to 100 years old. Additionally, you can show kids how to use the internet safely by using the resources from Internet Heroes.

Send us a photo of the activity on hoc@adfaber.org so we can enjoy the moment together.

I am a teacher

Year after year, teachers join the Hour of Code event and contribute to Romania's digital literacy. Regardless of the subject they teach, they are the teachers who go the extra mile to help kids discover that time spent on the computer can be used to learn, in a fun way, skills that are absolutely essential for the future.

We invite you to join this year's edition and organize a coding class or talk to students about online safety.

You can easily run an Hour of Code event even online! Sign up in the form, capture the moment and send us a photo or video to hoc@adfaber.org. We will appreciate your involvement through participation certificates.
