It's starting! New edition of Technovation Girls introduces hundreds of girls students to IT entrepreneurship

We are delighted to announce the opening of our newest edition Technovation Girls! This global initiative inspires and encourages girl students year after year to overcome gender barriers in STEM, helping them to develop their skills in technology and entrepreneurship and discover their potential in this field. 

The new edition of Technovation Girls, awaited by students in Romania.

In Romania, the Adfaber Association organizes the Technovation Girls program annually and invites students to discover, for free, educational resources that pave a clear path toward entrepreneurship in Technology. This edition will be organized with the support of BCR and ENDAVA, as co-national sponsors of the program, highlighting their ongoing commitment to promoting and supporting women in the technology field. 

Every year, hundreds of girls between the ages of 8 and 18 enroll in Technovation Girls for the development and mentoring opportunities offered by the program. 

In last year's edition, more than 600 Romanian students joined the nearly 7,000 girls from over 65 countries who completed the program. Supported by more than 4,000 mentors and ambassadors from around the world, participants developed mobile apps and startups tackling community issues ranging from climate change and bullying to domestic violence and drug addiction. 

Romania had 5 teams from Romania in the semi-finals: Digital Armie, Debuggers and Big Brain++ for the senior division, respectively 5ForLife and The Tough Cult for the junior division. These extraordinary young women impressed the jury with their ideas, and some of them started from scratch, developing their skills with the help of teachers, mentors and the Adfaber team. 

A complete educational experience for students of all ages

Technovation Girls has a significant impact on students, offering them the opportunity to discover their passion for technology, learn to collaborate in teams, and challenge them to find solutions to real-world problems in their community or globally.

This is the 15th Technovation Girls season, which will culminate in the Technovation World Summit in 2024. 15 finalist teams from around the world will be selected and invited to present their applications and business plans in front of a panel of technology experts. 

Statistics show that as a result of participating in Technovation Girls: 

  • 76% of Technovation graduates pursue STEM studies. 
  • 60% of graduates directly attribute Technovation to their career choices and sense of self-confidence.
  • 86% of participants in 2022 reported increased confidence in coding and entrepreneurial skills.

Who can participate in Technovation Girls?

The Technovation Girls program is open to all schoolgirls aged 8-18, regardless of their level of technology skills. The participants form teams of up to 5 girls and, with the help of an educational plan and mentorship, develop a mobile app that addresses an important global issue such as poverty, the environment, peace, equality, education, or health.

Teachers, parents, and companies also get involved in the program by guiding the girls in the process of learning and developing their applications.

Adfaber, the association that helps students get started in technology
