Adobe Romania: "Technovation offers a glimpse into the real life of a software developer"

And this year, Adobe Romania was involved in the Technovation Girls competition as well. Volunteer mentors guided the students, and the judges joined a team from around the world to decide on the winning projects!

Here's how the Technovation competition looks through the eyes of our friends at Adobe Romania.

"Every year, Adobe Romania employees volunteer in the Technovation competition, either as mentors or as judges. This year, 14 of them joined the competition!

With a little help from two colleagues at Adobe Romania, we made sure to spread the news about Technovation so that all our colleagues would learn about this opportunity to help the girls who participate!

Elinnore Niculcea, Software Development Engineer for Adobe Target, and Elena Taivan, Software Development Engineer for Adobe Cloud Operations, are the main volunteers who engage people in Technovation from Adobe Romania. They help colleagues receive enough information about the competition, recommendations, and support.

As a mentor for Technovation, I had the opportunity to help the participating students realize that a career in technology is possible, that programming is simple and rewarding, and that any problem can be solved if you allocate enough time to it.

Technovation provides a glimpse into the real-life of an adult working in technology, and the program greatly broadens the horizons of girls! For many of them, Technovation represents their first steps into technology and business. I wanted to guide the girls in these early steps, share my experience, and provide support because I missed this opportunity, faced difficulties, and felt discouraged many times. The most beautiful experiences I had as a mentor were sharing the team's enthusiasm and celebrating every small success.

The Adobe community consists of wonderful people who have significant experience to share and tremendous potential to help these girls. As many girls as possible should take advantage of the opportunity to be mentored by Adobe volunteers. For volunteers, mentoring teams means an exercise in leadership. The girls' fresh ideas and enthusiasm bring joy and create a desire to get involved. It's a winning experience for both sides, and therefore, I started spreading information about the competition to Adobe colleagues, involving as many volunteers as possible every year, and offering any support necessary," says Elinnore."
