Details and resources

ABOUT

The Greenfoot competition challenges high school students to put the theoretical knowledge gained in computer science classes into practice by learning how to create their own interactive game or lesson on the Greenfoot platform.

The project theme is a game or an interactive lesson, and the objective is to simplify theoretical concepts by putting them into practice.

Students participating have the opportunity to learn the basics of the most widely used programming language in the world – Java, while using creativity and teamwork, and be recognized for their efforts.

The participating teams must consist of 2 students and one coordinating teacher.
Registrations for the competition can be made until... January 19, 2025, at 11:59 PM

"We've always been passionate about bullet hell games, and when we had the opportunity to create our own game, we were excited. We've always liked the idea of a difficult game that challenges us, and we managed to create one that perfectly suits our taste."
Sasu Sebastian și Voicu Natașa, students,
National Pedagogical College "Constantin Cantacuzino", Târgoviște

"We can say that in this competition, we found both a passion and the motivation to pursue it. It seemed fascinating how, even after a tiring day of school, we felt like we were gaining new energy when it came to working on this project. Every problem we encountered pushed us to work harder to solve it, and every small victory like this made us eager to face another challenge."

“For me, this competition has been, every year, a way to get a taste of what game development and teamwork is all about.”
