Adfaber Association announces the national winning teams in the seventh edition of the Technovation Girls competition, organized with the support of BCR and Endava as National Sponsors.

9 teams of girls from Romania impressed a jury of IT and business specialists with their projects. To participate in the Technovation Girls competition, the students developed a mobile app or a prototype using Artificial Intelligence to solve a real problem in their community!

Over 1000 girl students from Romania, guided by mentors and organizers, developed applications that address critical societal issues, demonstrating their commitment to creating positive change through technology.

  • For the first time, teams of middle school students participated in Regional Pitch Live and pitched their projects
  • First International Team - Romanian students teamed up with students from Pakistan, Poland and Morocco
  • Youngest participants ever, only 9 years old

Globally, there were 31,028 entries in this edition of the international Technovation Girls competition from more than 50 countries, with this year's entries the highest in the program's history.

The students' efforts and achievements were celebrated and rewarded at the Regional Pitch Technovation Girls event in Bucharest, where 12 teams had the opportunity to present their final projects: innovative applications with real social impact.

How are girls changing the world for the better with the help of technology?

"This year was special because of the complexity of the themes chosen by the students, from a very young age. The fact that they understood the program, that they worked on their idea and then were able to present their projects live in front of an audience, shows how strong the next generation is, especially if given the right environment to develop", said Maria Popescu, Program Manager at Adfaber.

In a world that's constantly evolving, Technovation Girls opens the door to exceptional opportunities for girls in Romania, empowering them to become future leaders and channel their imagination and creativity towards a noble cause. Technovation Girls is a global entrepreneurship and technology program for students aged 8 to 18, unique in resources in the educational landscape of Romania.

The event brings together many experts in technology and entrepreneurship to offer advice and guidance to young female entrepreneurs. It would not be possible without project partners such as BCR and Endava - National Sponsors, Edupedu, Kiss Fm, Revista Cariere - media partners and Technovation Girls, global partner.

The event hosted two moments where two special guests, important to the Technovation Girls community, shared their advice for the girls present.

From BCR, Anca Luca, Startups Community Manager encouraged the girls and talked about how important it is to have women entrepreneurs in Romania.

And from Endava, Daniela Spilcă, Development Consultant, shared her experience and what it's like to be a woman in the tech world.

After the national stage, the Romanian teams of beginners, juniors and seniors will enter the global judging stage. On July 9 we will find out the finalist teams and regional winners, and on October 17 the Technovation Girls World Summit will take place.
