Here are the ideas that have brought recognition to these girls on a global scale!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To participate in the Technovation Girls competition, female students from public schools had to develop a mobile app or an AI prototype to solve a real problem in their community! Participants from high school had the opportunity to also develop a business plan for their idea, thus paving the way for a future career through the skills they acquired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which teams are making Romanians proud<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, 31 students from Romania have qualified for the semifinals of the international IT entrepreneurship competition, Technovation Girls.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>The semifinalists in the Technovation senior division<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The team Ginger beer and info, consisting of 5 students from Suceava \u2192 with the project Edumap<\/li><li>The team Nemesis, consisting of 4 students from R\u00e2mnicu-V\u00e2lcea \u2192 with the project Asteria<\/li><li>The team No shame, consisting of 3 students from C\u00e2mpulung, Arge\u0219 \u2192 with the project You Are Not Alone<\/li><li>The team Swoosh, consisting of 5 students from Satu Mare \u2192 with the project JoyXchange.<\/li><li>The team TERAA, consisting of 5 students from Bucharest \u2192 with the project YPS (Your Panic Support)<\/li><li>The team Unimind, consisting of 4 students from Bucharest \u2192 with the project Go Pill.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>The semifinalists in the Technovation Junior division<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The team LadiesFirst, consisting of 5 students from Neam\u021b \u2192 with the project Woman\u2019s life matter<em>.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The proposals from the participants:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">For the competition, the team <strong>\"Ginger beer and info\"<\/strong> developed <strong>\"Edumap\"<\/strong>, an application that sends notifications about interesting, cultural, and traditional places in Romania when the user is in proximity to them. The information is presented in an appealing way for teenagers and young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YNAI3WLJ8qE\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The <strong>\"Nemesis\"<\/strong> team developed an application that provides resources and assistance to domestic violence victims, as well as information about shelters and psychological counseling for Ukrainian refugees. The app also has a section for those who want to donate, provide legal assistance, medical services, and job announcements for domestic violence victims and refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RkkDu9ALR-o\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The team <strong>TERAA<\/strong> created the <strong>YPS<\/strong> (Your Panic Support) app, which provides assistance to those suffering from a panic attack and are alone, using easily accessible relaxation techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RjECAnFsAXI\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Unimind<\/strong> created the <strong>Go Pill<\/strong> application, which functions as a medical treatment guide, providing the user with a treatment calendar and the status of medication stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The <strong>Swoosh<\/strong> team reached the semifinals of the competition with the help of the <strong>JoyXchange<\/strong> project, an application designed to prevent object waste. It includes a map where users can place items they want to donate and locate a collection point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>You are Not Alone<\/strong> is the project through which the <strong>No Shame<\/strong> team offers moral and informational support for young mothers, along with advice from doctors and psychologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uvkPwKs2ehw\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The <strong>LadiesFirst<\/strong> team represents Romania in the junior division with an application that can provide medical support for women by allowing them to schedule appointments based on the tests they need, as well as having a discussion category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aFwn3HrvpLc\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to all participants for their courage and involvement!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does Technovation mean to the participants?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><em>\"It was a great experience to learn how to develop the app and write the code because, even though we were all in the math and computer science track, none of us had any experience with what we did in school, and it was a unique experience,\"<\/em> said Cosmina Mih\u0103escu, a member of the semifinalist team Nemesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technovation Girls Romania, the competition that fulfills dreams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Romania has a visible place on the map of the <a href=\"https:\/\/adfaber.org\/en\/technovation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Technovation Girls<\/a> competition after last year when a team of high school girls proved they deserved their regional prize for Europe. Five high school girls created the app <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/IIxh5yUhGW8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Safe Walk<\/a>, with which they wanted to convey a strong message: women in Romania need to be safe when they walk the streets. The app was inspired by the Caracal case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bloodochallenge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BlooDo Challenge<\/a>, another app developed in 2019 for the competition, motivated the participants so much that the mobile app was launched and continues to actively encourage blood donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Technovation Girls competition brings together tens of thousands of girls from over 100 countries who develop ingenious and innovative IT solutions for real community issues. The program is a challenge for participants as they learn to build a mobile app or an artificial intelligence program from scratch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The journey of the girls in the competition, a learning experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition is open to all girls passionate about technology between the ages of 8 and 18. After registering, participants form teams and, with the help of a mentor, identify a community issue related to poverty, the environment, peace, equality, education, or health.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After registration, participants develop their idea into a mobile app or artificial intelligence program project.
