{"id":6258,"date":"2020-08-14T11:34:12","date_gmt":"2020-08-14T11:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.adfaber.org\/?p=102"},"modified":"2020-08-14T11:34:12","modified_gmt":"2020-08-14T11:34:12","slug":"learn-to-code-with-alice-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adfaber.org\/en\/learn-to-code-with-alice-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Learn to code with Alice 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>The 3rd edition of the \u201cLearn to Code with Alice\u201d competition has declared its winners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bucharest, 23rd November 2017 \u2013 ADFABER.org organized the 3rd edition of \u201cLearn to Code with Alice\u201d competition that encourages and helps young students from schools and high schools to learn the basics of Java programming. The competition, sponsored by Oracle Academy, had 443 registered teams in the high school section and 197 registered teams in the elementary school section. In the high school section, the following three projects earned awards: \u201cStranded,\u201d \u201cContact\u201d and \u201cTriple Challenge.\u201d The elementary school section winners were the projects \u201cEnchanted Dragon,\u201d \u201cThor and the great theorems\u201d and \u201cMathematical adventure.\u201d All of the winning projects combined creativity with logical thinking and managed to offer the user a chance to learn by playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.adfaber.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/DSC08065.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-103\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter taking part in the \u201cLearn to Code with Alice\u201d competition, we\u2019ve learned more than just programming. Working in a team had showed us how important is to listen to one another and use every team member\u2019s ideas and turn them into an amazing project,.\u201d declared Lavinia Rus, third-place winner in the high school section with her \u201cTriple Challenge\u201d project. The contest was carried out in the framework of Kids in Tech, an educational platform launched by ADFABER, which connects children with international IT companies that can be directly involved in the development of digital competences required in the labor market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/adfaber.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/DSC00897.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8222;Oracle Academy is pleased to continue our support of Adfaber.org&#8217;s Learn to Code with Alice Competition for the 3rd year running,\u201d said Jane Richardson, Senior Director, Oracle Academy EMEA.\u00a0 \u201cIt is exciting to see the high level of competition entries from students in Romania who have shown how they have developed their Java programming skills using Alice. We congratulate the winning students.&#8221; The \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/adfaber.org\/en\/alice\/\">Learn to Code with Alice<\/a>\u201d competition has managed to show students that anyone can learn the basics of computer programming and develop the skills to create their own 3D animations, movies or games using Java programming. Students and teachers from high schools and elementary schools from all over the country had the opportunity to enter the competition with an educational project- a lesson, game or animation, made using the Alice 3 platform.
