This year, the theme  <em>\u201cEducational Apps for Kids with Special Educational Needs\u201d<\/em> attracted more than 400 students from all over the country, and the results were outstanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition aims to combine technology and creativity in an educational way, and the results were remarkable: students demonstrated a deep understanding of Java programming, using the Alice platform to create interactive games and stories that support the education of children with special educational needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What makes this competition unique?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Each year, the National Competition \"Learn to Program with Alice,\" sponsored by <a href=\"https:\/\/academy.oracle.com\/en\/oa-web-overview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oracle Academy<\/a>, offers students from across the country, grades 5-12, the perfect opportunity to take their first steps in the Java programming language. <br>This year\u2019s competition saw both experienced participants, who already know the basics of Java programming and impress the jury year after year, as well as students who have just discovered this opportunity and turned the time they spend at home, in front of the computer, into a learning experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The jury of the competition carefully analyzed each submitted project, taking into account the respect of the theme, the effort put in, the complexity of the projects and the creativity.<br><br><strong>Vlad Jorascu<\/strong>, a member of the jury, stated:<br><em>\"It's always a joy to be able to judge high school and middle school students' projects. Their creativity and technical skills produce impressive results. By developing these projects, they improve their knowledge and programming skills in an organic and enjoyable way. Through the competition, the children are tapping into their passion for video games and animation, resulting in well-crafted and value-generating applications.\"<\/em><br><br><strong>Damian Monea<\/strong>, a member of the jury, stated:<br><em>\u201cMy involvement as a judge of the \u201dLearn to program with Alice\" contest was a pleasure. I had the opportunity to observe how the teams approached a very interesting topic and how they managed to implement some educational games, using only their own knowledge and the Alice3 program. <\/em><br><em>Personally, I was surprised by the high quality of the projects, especially being a former competitor of this competition and I congratulate the competitors for their involvement and for the projects they implemented.<em>\u201d<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the judging, 3 projects in the high school category and 3 projects in the middle school category were selected as winners, which are presented below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Winners Learn to program with Alice from 2024, high school category<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\ud83c\udfc5 <strong>3rd Place \u2013 Team The Datoriile<\/strong><br><strong>The project \"Primii metri<\/strong>\" is created by students Cioc\u00eerlie Alin-Cristian and Grigora\u0219 Luca Cristian, from \"Mihai Eminescu\" National College in Satu Mare, under the guidance of teacher Vida Felicia Maria. <br><br><strong>\ud83c\udfc5 2nd Place \u2013 Team The Cranberries<\/strong><br>The project <strong>\"Labirintul muzicii<\/strong>\" is created by students Lupu\u0219or Anastasia and Kosa Melissa Monica, from \"Mihai Eminescu\" National College in Satu Mare, under the guidance of teacher Vida Felicia Maria. <br><br>\n<strong>\ud83c\udfc5 1st Place \u2013 Team Mind Chemists<\/strong><br>The project <strong>\"P\u0103durea Memoriei<\/strong>\" is created by students Nari\u021ba Luca Ioan and Moroz Cristian-Andrei, from \"Mihai Eminescu\" National College in Satu Mare, under the guidance of teacher Vida Felicia Maria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Winners Learn to program with Alice from 2024, middle school category<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83c\udfc5 3rd Place \u2013 Team Bright Stars<\/strong><br><strong>The project<\/strong> <strong>\u201eUniversul Emotiilor<\/strong>\" is created by students Botezatu Daniela and Dorobantoiu Rares, from Alexandru Davila Secondary School, Pitesti, Arge\u0219, under the guidance of teacher Dijmarescu Cristina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83c\udfc5 2nd Place \u2013<\/strong> <strong>Team Coresi Team<\/strong><br><strong>The project <strong>\u201e<\/strong>Ne distr\u0103m \u0219i \u00eenv\u0103\u021b\u0103m<\/strong>\" is created by the students Ungureanu Herman Andrei Herman and Cristescu Bogdan-Constantin, from Coresi Secondary School, Targoviste, D\u00e2mbovi\u021ba, under the guidance of Prof. Floroiu Daniela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\udfc5<strong> 1st Place -<\/strong> <strong>Team The Guardians<\/strong><br><strong>The project <strong><strong>\u201e<\/strong><\/strong>T\u0103r\u00e2mul lui Prim<\/strong>\" is created by the students Turcu R\u0103zvan Cristian and Chirosca Edgar, from Alexandru Davila Secondary School, Pite\u0219ti, Arge\u0219, under the guidance of teacher Dijmarescu Cristina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Winners' Stories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The winning teams talk about their experience of the competition and the creative process behind their projects in the video below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"\u2728 Descoper\u0103 viitorul program\u0103rii prin ochii c\u00e2\u0219tig\u0103torilor - \u201e\u00cenva\u021b\u0103 s\u0103 programezi cu Alice\u201d 2024 \u2728\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a4ww5T6K_84?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The \"Learn to Program with Alice\" competition continues to encourage students to develop their programming skills through creative and fun projects.
